Taylor Fritz and Jiri Lehecka advanced to the Cinch Championships final at The Queen's Club in London on Friday with the most convincing victory of their campaign.
The unseeded American/Czech team defeated top seeds Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski 6-3, 7-6(4) in the semifinals after claiming their first two games via Match Tie-breaks. In the victory, Fritz and Lehecka combined for 11 aces, saved three of the four break points thrown their way, and broke twice on five opportunities.
Only Fritz has competed in a final before; Lehecka and Fritz are both vying for their first tour-level doubles title. In Los Cabos with Thanasi Kokkinakis (2018) and Basel with Reilly Opelka (2019), the American twice came in second place. Second seeds Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek will play Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the ATP 500 event's second doubles semifinal on Saturday.
