The Indian Davis Cup team sealed its spot in World Group I on Sunday in Islamabad, capping its historic visit to the country after 60 years.
Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni won easily, and Niki Poonacha made her winning debut. In the doubles round, Bhambri and Myneni took the court with a 2-0 lead and defeated Muzammil Murtaza and Aqeel Khan's home team 6-2 7-6(5) to further cement India's supremacy over Pakistan in the competition.
The Indian team adapted well to the tough conditions and the heavy security around them, not letting the restrictions on their movement have an adverse impact on them.
