On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced its 17-member squad for the Under-19 world cup, which will be held from January 14 to February 5 in the West Indies. Delhi batsman Yash Dhull has been named captain.
SK Rasheed has been named his deputy while the squad also includes two wicketkeepers - Haryana's Dinesh Bana and Uttar Pradesh's Aaradhya Yadav.
The selectors have also named five standby players - Rishit Reddy, Uday Saharan, Ansh Gosai, Amrit Raj Upadhyay, and PM Singh Rathore.
The four-time Under-19 world cup champions will start their campaign against South Africa on January 15, 2022, in Guyana then head to Trinidad and Tobago to face Ireland and Uganda on January 19 and 22.
A total of 16 teams will play across 48 matches in the upcoming edition of the under-19 world cup 2022.
