Romelu Lukaku equalised for Belgium in the second half to save a point against Austria in the Euro 2024 qualification match in Brussels. The Austrian defence was avoided by the Chelsea forward as he turned and shot past Alexander Schlager with his back to goal after receiving the ball.
Austria took the lead when Michael Gregoritsch's initial attempt was deflected beyond Thibaut Courtois for an own goal. The hosts who were missing Kevin de Bruyne because of a hamstring injury sustained during Manchester City's victory in the Champions League final, made only two attempts on goal with Lukaku's goal being one of them.
In Group F, the visitors continue to be in first place, followed by Belgium. Belgium's next match is against Estonia, while Austria hosts Sweden at the same time.
