Casper Ruud of Norway advanced to his third Grand Slam final in five years with a surprising 6-3, 6-4, 6-0 semi-final triumph against Alexander Zverev at the clay-court major.
Ruud, a finalist in Paris a year ago and at the US Open in 2022, unleashed a performance full of his trademark clean baseline striking to overwhelm Zverev and complete a two-hour, nine-minute victory on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
Ruud converted six of ten break opportunities to earn a position in Sunday's final match, where he will compete for his first major title. His opponent will be two-time champion Novak Djokovic, who overcame Carlos Alcaraz 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1.
